Despite a widely reported beat down at the hands of Hillary Clinton in the first debate, Republican nominee Donald Trump raised a massive amount of money since he, Clinton, and Lester Holt walked off the stage.
The Trump campaign announced that nearly $18 million was raised since the debate.
This is another reason why the election is not over, despite Trump’s poor performance: His core supporters are highly energized and will keep donating and boosting his campaign.
Those energized supporters are also highly active on social media, which is why Trump won the dubious unscientific online polls. Those “wins” gave Trump his thin excuse to claim he was the winner.
But his huge fundraising haul should be a warning to the Democrats: Trump’s supporters seem the opposite of demoralized.
