Russian Embassy In The UK Calls Obama Lame Duck
Russia is responding to the expulsion of 35 diplomats and closure of two Russian intelligence compounds by the Obama Administration.
A Russian politician called the sanctions, “The death throes of political corpses.”
A statement from the Kremlin said Russia will respond with retaliatory steps.
After sanctions were announced, the Russian Embassy in the UK released the following tweet:
President Obama expels 35 🇷🇺 diplomats in Cold War deja vu. As everybody, incl 🇺🇸 people, will be glad to see the last of this hapless Adm. pic.twitter.com/mleqA16H8D

That tweet gives a clear sense that Russia is waiting out the Obama administration – expecting a better relationship when President-Elect Trump takes office.
Trump has said that everyone should “get on with their lives” in response to the Russia hacking, and has expressed an interest in getting along well with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
