Marine Le Pen Wants “Frexit” And New French Currency

Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Front Party in France, says if she is elected President she will hold a referendum on French European Union membership, and will bring in a new French Currency.

Le Pen – who wants France to leave the EU – says European economies have been “suffocated” by the Euro.

At a press conference, Le Pen said “A national currency could be linked to a common currency,” – presumably the Euro.

Le Pen’s National Front has been rising in the polls, but are still seen as underdogs in the upcoming election.

Were Le Pen to triumph and lead France out of the EU, it could mark a fatal blow to the European project that has repeatedly failed to make good on its promises of security and economic prosperity.
