CRAZY: Austrian President Wants All Women To Wear Headscarves To Fight “Islamophobia”

File this under the ‘worst ideas of all time’ category.

Alexander Van der Bellen – the left-wing President of Austria – has made a statement that is both laughably crazy, and disturbingly dangerous.

While he was speaking to students, Van der Bellen said the following:

Should Austria’s, “rampant Islamophobia continue, there will come a day when we must ask all women to wear a headscarf – all of them! – out of solidarity towards those who do it for religious reasons.”

That is an appalling statement, especially from someone who ostensibly represents their country.

Van der Bellen’s comments shows the intellectual contortions the far-left does in trying to silence anyone who has legitimate concerns or questions about issues relating to Islam.

Many people see how women are treated in much of the Islamic world and are determined to ensure those attitudes do not gain power here. Yet, when people raise those concerns, they are denounced as being “Islamophobic,” by the foolish political elites.

Now, Van der Bellen proposes to confront that “Islamophobia,” by – wait for it – telling women what they must wear.

That is total insanity.

It’s important to note that the government of Austria does not appear to be following Van der Bellen’s proposed course of action. In fact, they just passed a ban on the burqa full body veil.

Unfortunately, Van der Bellen is not alone in his crazy ideas. In their attempts to destroy free speech and silence the voice of patriotic citizens, the far-left has become more unhinged than ever.

Solidarity my ass. It’s his way of saying Austria should conform to them. Not the other way around. This Islamophobia is getting on my nerves. If others want to come and live in the host country of their choosing, then they have to accept the ways and laws of the host country. Not try to change everything to the way of their own country that they are fleeing from. This is the only religion that demands others to do as they want and change for them. There is no way I would wear a headscarf, conform to their ways, or… Read more »
