French Police Arrest Man Who Slammed Car Into Soldiers

Police in France have shot and arrested a man who deliberately rammed his car into a group of six soldiers in what’s being investigated as a terrorist attack.

The man is reportedly from Algeria, and was arrested about 260 km north of Paris. A French newspaper identified the suspect as 37-year-old Hamou B.

As noted by Reuters, “The soldiers were part of Operation Sentinel, launched in the wake of Islamist attacks in Paris in early 2015. The Levallois-Perret attack was the 15th on troops and police in the last two-and-a-half years, many of them Islamic State-inspired.”

Video report on attack:

Horrible toll of terror in France

Since January 2015, over 230 people have been killed in Islamist terror attacks in France.

The French government is boosting military spending and security funding to combat the growing threat, though many doubt whether the Macron government has the toughness to keep the country safe.
