Canadian Petition Against Sharia Law Receives Over 57,000 Signatures

E-909 becomes one of the most widely-signed petitions to the government.

When the manipulative Motion-103 was put forth by the Trudeau government, they said it was based on how many people signed petition E-414, which was put forth by the government last year. That petition – with the full support of the federal apparatus and government machine – received 69,742 signatures.

Those signatures were used as the justification for Motion-103, which has the potential to lead to dangerous restrictions on free speech in the future.

In response to M-103, many Canadians pointed out that there are legitimate concerns about radical Islamism and Sharia law, and we have the right as citizens to make clear that Sharia law isn’t tolerated here. As a result, Petition E-909 was created.

Here’s what the petition said:

PETITION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA

Whereas:

  • Differential justice based on an individual’s religion is prejudicial and preferential, therefore, an amendment to the Constitution Act of 1982 would ease the minds of all Canadians and ensure equal treatment for everyone under the Criminal Code of Canada.

We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to propose an amendment to the Constitution Act of 1982, under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, stating that Sharia Law or separate Sharia family courts will never have a place in the Canadian Justice System.

That petition (E-909), sponsored by MP James Bezan, was initiated on March 7, 2017 and was closed for signatures on July 5, 2017, and received a form-letter government response on November 8th.

In total, E-909 received 57,731 signatures, an impressive number considering it didn’t have the power of the government behind it.

This clearly shows that many Canadians want a clear and unequivocal ban on Sharia law ever being used in this country.

Yet, we know that the Trudeau government will never listen to the voices of those who signed E-909. They only listen to petitions they create themselves, not petitions that spontaneously emerge from the will of Canadians.

Only when Trudeau and his dangerous political correctness has been defeated will it be possible for the government to clearly express that Sharia law won’t be tolerated, and we must hold the next government (assuming it’s a Conservative one), accountable to ensure they defend Canadian principles and values.

  1. Just a little correction Spencer, it is petition E-411. They are talking in the petition about the contribution of muslims. There is no such thing anywhere in the world but destruction from them. I tried about 10 times to sign the petition E-909 and was unable because of the defective link or other issues. I tried from July to mid-September. So you can imagine all the other people who have tried to sign the petition E-909. Obviously, the government made sure that it would become an IMPOSSIBLE TASK. Apparently motion E-909 was rejected because, it is not necessary since all religions are equal. So how in the hell petition E-411 got through if all religions are equal? Not according to the wording of petition E-411 since it FAVORS Islam.

  2. Why would any sane person want Sharia law? People who believe in Sharia law are against women and think women are second class citizens. Sharia law is against our democracy and should be outlawed in Canada. Canada is not a Muslim country, if these people don’t respect our morals values and beliefs, then they should not be welcome!

  3. It certainly will be a new party in the HOC! Have you heard of National Advancement Party of Canada? Look them up on FB!
I actually emailed Hon. Hedy Fry and gave the figures of the E 414, 69k + signatures, would change the heritage and future of Canada forever. Stating also that E petition 909 had not been debated in the HOC, why? When the voice of Canada is being given the right to voice, it too should have been debated and voted on. Hopefully she understands the ramifications of her decision regardless of her faith!
Thanks for being such an inspiration to Canadians. Your reports and insights are refreshing to read!
