Enverga died while on a Parliamentary trip to Colombia.

Conservative Senator Tobias Enverga, who was appointed to the Senate by Stephen Harper in 2012, has passed away at the age of 61.

Enverga died while on a Parliamentary trip to Colombia for the ParlAmericas Annual Plenary Assembly, along with members of the Liberals and NDP.

Many of Enverga’s fellow Senators and those who knew him shared their sadness upon learning of his passing:

Enverga was the first Filipino-born Canadian appointed to the Senate, and served as a trustee for the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

He is survived by his wife Rosemer, and three daughters.
