Ontario NDP Candidate Held “F–K” The Police Sign At Rally: Report

The latest Ontario NDP candidate controversy.

The Ontario NDP keeps having trouble with their candidates.

This time, it’s NDP candidate Gurratan Singh, the brother of federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh.

As reported by Joe Warmington of the Toronto Sun, “Back in 2006, there was no ambiguity over how the NDP candidate in Brampton East felt about Toronto Police. “F— the Police,” said the protest sign that Singh, the brother of federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, carried during a downtown demonstration more than a decade ago. Pathetic.”

Warmington quoted former Toronto Police Chief Julian Fantino saying “As someone who spent over 40 years as a police officer in Ontario, the only time I recall facing such hateful rhetoric directed at police is when confronting anarchists — the goons who usually came out to incite breaches of the peace.”

As expected, Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath is once again showing total hypocrisy, standing behind Singh – who has apologized.

Personally, considering that Singh’s comments are from a long time ago, and considering that he has apologized, I don’t think he should be barred from running. However, the problem once again is that Andrea Horwath has refused to hold any of her candidates accountable for their statements – despite calling on controversial Ontario PC candidates to resign.

If she has one standard for her candidates and another for other candidates it shows the kind of elitist arrogance, hypocrisy, and bias that would be so dangerous in power.

Additionally, while Singh’s perspective may have changed, it is still disturbing to see that the NDP is full of candidates who either currently hold radical views, or once held those views.

The NDP regularly shows a disgusting willingness to attack those who put their lives at risk to keep our nation and community safe, including Canadian Veterans and Police Officers.

As I’ve said before, the NDP is trying to hide their radicalism behind Horwath’s moderate image, and if people don’t get out to vote against the NDP then Ontario will be stuck with a far-left radical extremist government that will do massive damage.

Fantino, 40 years as a police officer in Ontario and Chief of Police 2000-2005 in response to Gurratan Singh’s f…k the police sign and recent apology, stated: “it’s another example of a cop hater in pursuit of a soft landing at Queens Park-where he doesn’t belong!” Fatino said.
Sums it up perfectly.

I hope and pray that the citizens of this province are smart enough to NOT vote NDP! Albertans have been telling Ontario Citizens for some time that having an NDP Government in Alberta has been PURE HELL for them and they don’t want us to make the same mistake. If the citizens of this Province vote NDP, then they must only have short term memories. I believe that they would have forgotten how the NDP almost bankrupped this province with Bob Rae. Ontario would become a “Sanctuary Province”, and all hard working Canadians would get be treated far less humane… Read more »
