More contempt for Canadian taxpayers.
Even more is being learned about how much Canadian taxpayers were fleeced during Justin Trudeau’s disastrous trip to India.
It turns out that the Trudeau government spent $17,000 on payments to Vikram Vij, a Vancouver celebrity chef who was flown into India to cook for Trudeau and the elites at a state dinner.
According to a report, “Documents tabled in Parliament this week at the request of the Conservatives detail all government expenditures over $1,000 associated with the trip, excluding all invoices yet to be received. One of those expenditures was for $17,044.21 to bring Vancouver-based celebrity chef Vikram Vij to help prepare a pair of Indian-inspired meals at the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi. Vij, an Indo-Canadian restaurateur and vocal Liberal supporter, had his transportation, accommodation, per diems and incidentals covered by the federal government. That figure does not include the cost of the meals he helped prepare.”
Once again, we see the Trudeau government showing total contempt for Canadian taxpayers dollars. Not only was Trudeau’s trip expensive enough – and turned out to be a total embarrassment and a disaster – but they brought in all these extra perks for the elites that ended up costing taxpayers even more.
What makes all of this worse is that Trudeau could have easily covered the cost himself, but chose not to – leaving Canadian taxpayers stuck with the bill.
Clearly, his arrogant sense of entitlement continues to grow and is infecting the entire federal government.
