BREAKING: Jeff Sessions Forced To Resign As U.S. Attorney General

Trump had long been enraged with Sessions over the Mueller probe.

Jeff Sessions, the former Alabama Senator who had long been in U.S. Donald Trump’s doghouse as Attorney General, has resigned.

Reports indicate the resignation was in response to a White House request that Sessions depart.

The resignation comes after the U.S. mid-term elections, in which the Democrats won the House while Republicans strengthened their majority in the Senate.

Sessions and Trump started on good terms, as Sessions was the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump during the Presidential campaign. Sessions provided Trump with credibility on cracking down on illegal immigration, and helped Trump’s campaign get off the ground.

Trump rewarded Session’s loyalty by appointing him as Attorney General.

However, their relationship quickly soured, as Sessions recused himself from the probe into collusion. Sessions was a possible target of the probe, and Department of Justice guidelines required him to recuse himself.

That said, Trump was still enraged by Sessions recusal, and became even more enraged after the Mueller probe was launched. Trump felt Sessions had failed to defend him, and said regularly belittled and humiliated Sessions in public statements.

For the time being, Matthew Whitaker will be the Acting U.S. Attorney General

Here’s what Sessions wrote in his resignation letter:

“At your request, I am submitting my resignation. Since the day I was honored to be sworn in as Attorney General of the United States, I came to work at the Department of Justice every day determined to do my duty and serve my country. I have done so to the best of my ability, working to support the fundamental legal processes that are the foundation of justice.”

Here’s what Trump tweeted about the removal of Sessions:

“We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well….”

“….We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”

Attorney general Jeff Sessions was a good senator but as AG why he recused himself with libtard pressure and absolutely know evidence is something I’ll never figure out.Cleaned out thousands of bad illegals and m s thirteen. On the mueller investigation he gave up his power(Russia hoax). I’m writing this because over all Jeff would have cleaned up much of the crime in Canada including unlawful border walk ins. I sincerely wish you well and hope to visit your state again this winter. My biggest wish is for the conservative citizens to keep trudope and his cohorts in check until the fall… Read more »

Session biggest problem – and it was Sessions problem – was that Session knew he should not take the AG;’ position but he took it anyway and in so doing was actually complicit with the Deep State. Session actions in helping Trump survive the elections followed by his “betrayal” once appointed to the AG’s position that he had so sought Sessions actions were so egregious that it has long been suspected that Sessions per-election friendliness to Trump was as a Deep state plant – but then Trump won. Sessions then moved to Plan B to support any legal attempt to… Read more »
