This shuffle was caused when Jane Philpott resigned due to her opposition to Trudeau’s ‘handling’ of the PMO SNC-Lavalin Scandal.
Joyce Murray is the new Treasury Board President.
Murray is anti-pipeline and opposes Canada’s energy industry.
Trudeau appointed her to the role in his third cabinet shuffle in three months, replacing Jane Philpott.
This cabinet shuffle is another example of the chaos consuming the Liberal government, with many wondering who the next minister to depart will be.
In a statement the government said “Murray will help advance the priorities of the Government of Canada and deliver its commitments to Canadians.”
While Murray has been outspoken in the past, she has expressed her support for Trudeau during the scandal, and is seen as a loyalist to the PM at a time when even many Liberal supporters are expressing doubt in his ‘leadership.’
Of course, this is all a distraction from the fact that the Liberals shut down a justice committee meeting and still won’t let Jody Wilson-Raybould speak freely.
The cover-up continues.
