Says a source has told him the ban will be issued through a Cabinet Directive, bypassing Parliament entirely.
Tony Clement spoke in the House of Commons today to warn that the Trudeau government has a secret plan to ban legal firearms.
Here’s what Clement said:
“Today I rose in the House of Commons Question Period to ask about the Liberal Government’s secret plan to pass a sweeping firearms ban by Cabinet Directive, not by debatable legislation. Point man Liberal MP Bill Blair did not deny. More to come…”
In a very ominous sign, the Liberals refused to deny it. It would have been very easy for Blair to say the Liberals had no plan to ban legal firearms. He didn’t.
With the Trudeau Liberals falling in the polls and desperate to maintain power, it would not be a surprise to see them try and demonize Canadian firearms owners and target the rights of law-abiding Canadians.
Even though a ban on legal guns won’t do anything to stop actual criminals, the fact is that the Liberals don’t really care about cracking down on crime. They’re seeking instead to take rights away from law-abiding Canadians, and expand government power at the expense of civil liberties.
This is something we all need to keep an eye on, and we cannot abide an anti-democratic removal of our rights.
