Video: Trump Explains Attack Backtrack

Says possible death of 150 people in air strike was not proportionate to the shooting down of a drone.

US President Donald Trump has explained why he decided to call off an airstrike on Iran at the last minute.

Trump first explained his decision on Twitter in a series of Tweets:

“President Obama made a desperate and terrible deal with Iran – Gave them 150 Billion Dollars plus I.8 Billion Dollars in CASH! Iran was in big trouble and he bailed them out. Gave them a free path to Nuclear Weapons, and SOON. Instead of saying thank you, Iran yelled…..”

“….Death to America. I terminated deal, which was not even ratified by Congress, and imposed strong sanctions. They are a much weakened nation today than at the beginning of my Presidency, when they were causing major problems throughout the Middle East. Now they are Bust!….”

“….On Monday they shot down an unmanned drone flying in International Waters. We were cocked & loaded to retaliate last night on 3 different sights when I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not….”

“….proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world. Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!”

Trump then spoke to Chuck Todd of NBC News:

Trump’s decision so far tracks with much of the reporting of the internal debates within his Administration, in which Trump and his more nationalist supporters are pushing back against the neo-cons who seek war.

President Trump avoided being a war criminal too on invading for any excuse.
Without the military backing, many former Presidents would be on trial for war crimes.

Really like and respect President Trump! What a great job he’s done for the US and really the World. If his opponent Hillary Clinton would have one the election we’d all be suffering the consequences. God bless President Trump and our US friends and neighbours!

Not attacking Iran is a good start. Getting out of the Middle East would be even better. Not pursuing regime change in Venezuela would be good. Following through on his election promise to bring American troops back home and close forward bases around the world would be the ultimate proof that he is in charge and has a moral conscience.
