‘Weak’ Trudeau To Blame For Lack Of Canadian Exemption From ‘Buy America’ Rules Says Scheer

“A Conservative Government will always fight for Canadian workers, and unlike Justin Trudeau and the Liberals, we will stand firm in defence of Canadian interests,” says the Conservative Leader.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is continuing his broadside against Justin Trudeau, as the US imposes more ‘Buy America’ restrictions on our country.

On Facebook, Scheer laced into Trudeau, saying Trudeau squandered the opportunity he had during NAFTA negotiations to get an exemption for Canada.

Here’s what Scheer said:

“Justin Trudeau failed Canadians by surrendering so much and getting pushed-around by President Trump during the NAFTA re-negotiations, and now we are seeing it happen once again with the United States’ Executive Order on Buy America.

When Justin Trudeau had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to negotiate a better deal for Canadians, he gave up concession after concession to Donald Trump without securing anything in return. Canada’s hard-working steel and manufacturing workers are now paying the price.

Just last week, Canada’s Premiers came together to call-on the Trudeau government to secure Canadian exemptions from Buy America policies. We have already seen the damage these Buy America policies can cause, and even though the Premiers raised their concerns, things have gotten worse.

Justin Trudeau promised that Canada would be respected on the world-stage, but clearly he is Not as Advertised. It’s obvious that our trading partners see Justin Trudeau as a weak leader who will be pushed-around every step of the way on the world stage.

A Conservative Government will always fight for Canadian workers, and unlike Justin Trudeau and the Liberals, we will stand firm in defence of Canadian interests.”

Scheer could have done worse and really ticked off President Trump and have many more tariff imposed.
Politicians and the media still do not understand that Trump is trying to bring back the manufacturing that left for other countries for decades now.
Trump hates globalist and Scheer is one as well.

Old planes dumped on Canada by Australia, India angry about Sikh terrorists, China playing with Trudeau and Freeland, America simply tolerating Canada because we are next door. Seems the entire world can see Trudeau as weak and ineffective. He is in way way over his head, far above his intellectual and skills level.

I do like the idea of asking Liberals why they support Trudeau. Make them justify.

Unless voters are directly affected by the “Made in America policy” such as SNC Lavalin transit car workers then most Canadians will not be bothered about this. I have heard Scheer speak personally and his emphasis was about how Trudeau’s policies have raised the cost of living for Canadians through carbon taxes etc. My daughter, for instance, is too busy raising her children, working and looking after her home to be concerned with these matters… but cost of living increases now that gets her attention big time. They are reminded of it every weekend when they buy food and gas.… Read more »
