Move follows decision to exit Canadian credit card market.
Canadian holders of Chase Bank credit cards will have their outstanding debt balance forgiven.
Chase Bank – based in New York – is exiting the Canadian credit card market after 13 years.
All debt up to June will be wiped out, as the company takes the loss in order to facilitate a faster exit from Canada.
The bank has not said the value of the debt being forgiven.
