Two-Thirds Of Canadians Say The “Economy Is Rigged”

Yet more evidence of the massive disconnect with the official government economic stats, and what people are feeling on the ground.

A new Ipsos poll reveals a full two-thirds of Canadians saying “Canada’s economy is rigged to advantage the rich and powerful,” a theme that will certainly factor into the upcoming election campaign.

In the 2015 campaign, Justin Trudeau campaigned on helping Canadians struggling to make ends meet.

But since taking power, the number of Canadians saying the economy is rigged has actually increased by 8 points, from 59% in 2016 to 67% now.

Additionally, just 10% of Canadians don’t think the economy is rigged, showing how widespread the feeling of the system being rigged is across our country.

That same poll also showed a majority of Canadians saying “Canada’s society is broken,” with 52% saying it’s broken, and just 19% saying it’s not broken.

Of course, these results make a lot of sense, considering that the cost of living is getting higher and higher, and we’re all being told to ‘sacrifice’ to ‘save the planet,’ while the elites keep living large at our expense.

Every time I try to shift to fit into the system, it changes and costs vastly more to try to change with it.
I cannot afford to start a business as insurance and many other costs are astronomically expensive.
The other thing is terrified of being sued should I make a mistake.

Oh Yes I’m all for it to save the plannet, and we all collectively should work to save the plannet. Our PM bases all his energy on this and making this as a political agenda thinking he is the only one that has some brains.Other parties also think about the same thing about saving the plannet, but using differen method to achieve the goal. That does not mean that they are wrong. At the same time we are saving the plannet we must eat and buy the groceries pay our bills and survive. What about our standard of living it has gone down considerably.Doesn’t our PM… Read more »

What else could be expected from a pair of trust fund twins , who have worked together to improve the lives of their closest friends in business and politics. Neither of them can relate to the struggles Canadians have in making ends meet and only pretend to care, when it comes to getting our votes. What’s even worse is that Trudeau is more concerned with what happens outside of Canada than what is actually happening in the lives of Canadians. And the belief that our economy is rigged is only reinforced by the fact that Trudeau rewards his business friends… Read more »

Rigged to benefit the rich and powerful and make the Aboriginal chiefs, band councils, and their sheeple more so than they are already willing to admit. But truth is being averted

Financial and economic disasters are both of Trudeau’s making and both were done intentionally. Just as daddy did back in the sixties and seventies, destroying the country of Canada has been the intent behind each of Justin’s policies and acts. Whether one likes or dislikes Justin Trudeau, the reality is that Canada, once the finest place on the planet in which to live, cannot survive another four years of “Trudeau and his policies — all of which are intended to destroy our country. If there is an intelligent and reasoned argument to the contrary, I would be willing to listen,… Read more »

The ten percent who disagree must be at the top of the income strata. Nice work if you can get it.

The Canadian economy has always functioned at the whim of government, and big companies, think Lavalin, Bombardier, are in the governments pocket and it will never change. Canada has become the classic definition of a fascist state. The media is controlled by ideological dogma and are literally paid by government.
