China Locks Down Two More Cities, Bringing Total Quarantine Population To Nearly 20 Million

Fears are growing as it appears the Coronavirus is spreading out of control.

China’s growing level of panic has reached new heights, with authorities now locking down two additional cities.

The city of Wuhan, with a population of roughly 11 million people, was already locked down.

Now, the city of Huanggang, with a population of 7.5 million people, and the city of Ezhou, are enacting travel restrictions in a desperate attempt to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

It is believed that this is the largest quarantine in human history, a testament to the obvious sense of panic behind the scenes among China’s authorities.

As reported by the WSJ, “According to The Huanggang local government, in a statement on its website, also said movie theaters, internet cafes and other entertainment and cultural facilities in the city center would temporarily halt operations and a central market would be shut down for an indefinite period. Starting Thursday, the local government said it would inspect every person and car entering and exiting the urban center.”

There are now 600 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in China, with 17 confirmed deaths. Cases have also been reported in Thailand, Macau, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the U.S.

And, as noted by Gordon Chang, the estimates of actual infections in Wuhan are 10 times larger than what China’s officials claim, raising the possibility that the epidemic has already spread out of control while China tried to hide it:

“If 6,000 people are in fact infected, then #China has not been acting responsibly this time as global health officials have assured us. By the way, Beijing’s drastic actions suggest the number of infections is far higher than the official count. #WuhanOutbreak #WuhanLockDown”

Clearly, this is a growing threat to Canada and the world, and China’s Communist authoritarian government cannot be trusted.

With the threat rising, the fact that the Trudeau government has refused to ban flights from China is an outrage:

“It’s absolutely absurd that the Canadian government hasn’t imposed travel restrictions on China. What the hell are they waiting for?”
