BREAKING: Senate Acquits Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump was acquitted on two articles of impeachment, with a majority voting “Not Guilty” on both.

Impeachment is over.

Following a State of the Union speech that was highly rated by Republicans and Independents according to polls, U.S. President Donald Trump was acquitted by the Senate on two articles of impeachment.

Trump had been impeached by the House of Representatives on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of congress.

He was acquitted by a majority of Senators on both charges.

67 votes would have been needed to remove Trump. As a result, Trump was never close to being removed from office, and will be emboldened heading into this U.S. election year, with polls showing he has become more popular during impeachment proceedings.
