RBC, BDO Employees In Isolation After Two Test Positive For Coronavirus

Two offices in the Toronto area take action as Coronavirus spreads in Canada.

Royal Bank of Canada’s Mississauga office has ordered dozens of employees to isolate themselves at home.

The move comes after an employee tested positive for Coronavirus.

“As a precautionary measure, we immediately advised employees who work on the same floor to self-quarantine until further notice, and we immediately undertook a disinfecting of the impacted floor and in all common areas, including elevators, cafeteria and washrooms,” said an RBC spokeswoman.

BDO Canada – also in the Toronto area – has shut down their Wellington Street East office, after an employee tested positive for Coronavirus.

“This individual recently travelled overseas, has spoken with their local health authorities, and is self-isolated at home,” a spokesperson said.”

The entire office is being disinfected.

As noted in a CTV Toronto report, some Toronto-area schools are already being shut down temporarily, including a Toronto ESL school, an elementary school in Rosedale, and a technical college in North York.
