Instead of being defensive, the Conservatives need to go on offense versus Liberal hypocrisy & failure.
As you read this, I’m sure you can remember when the Liberals – including Justin Trudeau, Patty Hajdu, Theresa Tam, and many more, insinuated that ‘stigma’ was the biggest threat as the Coronavirus emerged from China, and insinuated that travel bans were ‘racist’ and ‘wouldn’t work.’
Of course, they have since reversed themselves, instituting the same border closures and travel bans they demonized the rest of us for supporting much earlier. Yet, there has been no apology to those they attacked, and no acknowledgment of their wrong-doing.
And now, the same people who called Canadians racist for wanting to protect our country from infection, and who kept the borders open far too long leading to the deaths of many more Canadians, are now once again telling us what is and isn’t ‘racist.’
Unfortunately, some Conservatives are falling into the trap of playing the Liberal game.
Instead, they should simply attack the Liberals back, refocusing attention on the failure of the Liberal government to protect the country, and note that the Liberals have no credibility on racism.
After all, the Liberals are the party that defended their leader who had repeatedly worn racist blackface, and who throw the word ‘racism’ around so much that it’s lost all meaning.
The Conservatives should just repeatedly say that, instead of responding to whatever outrage of the day the Liberals and their compliant media try to generate.
